Description

Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheet is a tough synthetic rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Rubber neoprene, also called by its chemical name chloroprene, was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a synthetic rubber with chemical resistance. While other rubber materials may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene rubber is designed to endure. Our sheet neoprene is actually a synthetic rubber compound, made with a 10% rubber neoprene base and a blend of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) to give it the strength of both synthetic elastomers. This mix of rubber materials gives the sheet neoprene moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid black rubber sheeting that is highly desired for commercial and industrial applications.
The unique mix of SBR and rubber chloroprene that makes up Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheet rubber gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other synthetic rubber materials. The neoprene rubber holds up against acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals without showing wear for a long time. Sheet neoprene is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects. Though other synthetic rubbers may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that rubber neoprene does. Our solid neoprene offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
Another key feature of this heavy-duty neoprene is its intense temperature range and resistance. The rubber neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the sheet rubber product; this 1/4" neoprene is one of the slightly thicker options available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Our neoprene sheet comes in 10 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. This soft elastic rubber has a durometer of 50A, giving it a firm surface while allowing a reasonable amount of flexibility. The 50-durometer neoprene is strong yet pliable, making it versatile enough for any application from insulation to industrial gasketing. This sheet neoprene is the ideal industrial rubber material.
