About Output Load Reactors
Noise spikes (AKA harmonic distortion) can ride on the leading edge of electrical signals from a VFD’s high frequency PWM three-phase output to the motor. An output load reactor serves as a buffer between the VFD and the motor, providing an increase in inductance along the cable run, thereby protecting the electrical motor from those spikes. If the wiring distance between the VFD and the motor is not very long, use an output line reactor instead.
