Description

Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheeting is a tough synthetic rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Neoprene rubber, also called by its chemical name chloroprene, was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a rubber material with chemical resistance. While other synthetic rubbers may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene sheet is designed to endure. Our industrial neoprene is actually a synthetic rubber compound, made with a 10% neoprene elastomer base and a blend of styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene rubber to give it the strength of both sheet rubber materials. This mix of synthetic elastomers gives the neoprene rubber moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid sheet neoprene that is highly desired for commercial and industrial applications.
The unique blend of SBR synthetic rubber and elastomer neoprene that makes up Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene rubber sheet gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other types of synthetic rubber. The neoprene material holds up against acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals without showing wear for a long time. Sheet neoprene is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects. Though other artificial rubbers may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene rubber does. Our solid neoprene offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
Another key feature of this sleek, black neoprene is its intense temperature range and resistance. The rubber neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or industrial machinery damaging the neoprene sheet; this 3/32" sheet rubber is one of the thinner options available and works best for delicate or detailed applications. Our neoprene rubber comes in 10 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. This thin neoprene has a durometer of 50A, giving it a firm surface while allowing a reasonable amount of flexibility. The 50-durometer neoprene is strong yet pliable, making it versatile enough for any application from insulation to industrial gasketing. This soft neoprene is the ideal industrial sheet rubber.
